Marielle Zych has been involved with the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra since 2019 when she was hired as the Operations Manager.  She was appointed as Executive Director in 2020.  Her responsibilities include publicity, arrangements for rehearsals, concerts, auditions, music librarian, camps, and tours, as well as grant applications and development.

Marielle received her Bachelor’s in Music Education from Ithaca College in 2010 and her Master’s in Music Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2013.  She taught Music Education wearing different hats for ten years. She had built a brand new band program in the inner city of Phoenix, Arizona, and flourished the existing choral and general music program.  In 2015 she moved back to Buffalo, NY to teach K-8 General Music and Chorus in the Buffalo Public Schools.  

Marielle was a member of the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra from 2003-2006.  She was principal clarinet for both the 04'-05 season and the 05'-06 season.  She has performed in the prestigious Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
