Amy Andrus - President
Amy is a proud parent of a GBYO alum, who is now studying flute performance at Ithaca College. Amy is a corporate attorney with over 20 years experience practicing law and being an integral member of executive teams within organizations, most recently at a SaaS technology company. She has served on multiple non-profit boards and enjoys mentoring young professionals. She joined the Board in 2021 and is committed to supporting the organization's mission and helping lead the future growth of the organization.

Sarah Greber - Vice President
Sarah’s career and endeavors have largely revolved around education. With over 20 years of experience in the digital and print education industry, she has edited and marketed textbooks and digital options for college students across the globe. Sarah is also active in an international women’s group, focusing on supporting women in education with scholarships and grants to help women succeed. Music education is an important part of her family life and she is grateful to be part of the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra program, with the hopes of continuing to offer these opportunities to young musicians for many years to come.

Natalie Debikey Scanio - Secretary
Natalie Scanio has held the position of Flute and Piccolo with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra since 2003. Natalie has performed with many orchestras across the country, including as guest piccoloist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and substitute in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. As an active recitalist and chamber musician, she has performed solo recitals across the United States and in Europe. Natalie has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Indianapolis, Boston, and Buffalo and has been a featured flute soloist at the National Flute Association Convention. She is a sought-after clinician and teacher, and her students have gone on to attend major music conservatories and have won positions in orchestras throughout the country.
Natalie joined the GBYO Board because she knows the importance of youth orchestras in developing young musicians. She believes whether or not GBYO members decide to pursue a career in music in the future, they are all enriched by the opportunity to play thegreat masterworks at such a high level. She also brings a unique perspective as a professional musician, flute teacher, and parent of a YO member.
Natalie and her husband Marcus are proud parents of three young musicians. Arianna is a flutist in GBYO, Alex plays trumpet, and Sophie plays both flute and piano. At any given time, someone is playing music at home!

Stephan Guidie - Treasurer
Stephan has worked for Honeywell/UOP for the past 34 years, serving as a Senior Demand Planner and Plant Controller. In addition to his professional career, he has been deeply involved in community service and nonprofit leadership. He has served as Treasurer of the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra (GBYO) since 2022 and Treasurer of the Clarence Band Boosters since 2010. From 2014 to 2021, he was a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the Western New York Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Music has always played an important role in his life. Both of his children participated in the Clarence band program, and in his own early years, he was actively involved in his school’s Band, Chorus, A Cappella, and Musicals.

Dr. Franziska Macur
Franziska Macur is the Annual Fund and Grants Manager for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, where she combines her love of storytelling with her expertise in education and fundraising. She earned a PhD in Communication and spent several years as a college professor before homeschooling her two daughters through middle school and guiding them into high school.
Franziska has also led projects for Artpark and Buffalo Arts Studio, building programs, writing grants, and strengthening community connections. She joined the GBYO board to help young musicians access the same kind of opportunities that shaped her own family’s love of the arts.
Outside of work, Franziska is a ceramic artist, writer, wife, and proud parent of two teenage daughters. She's always on the lookout for the next spark of creativity. -
Jamie Shrock
Jamie Shrock is a Human Resources professional with over 20 years of experience. Shrock is proud to currently serve as the Senior Director of Human Resources for Kaleida Health, the largest healthcare provider in Western New York. Before her business career, Shrock was a professional musician with a Bachelor of Music in Bassoon Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and attended the Oberlin College/Conservatory of Music. Shrock also is the co-founder of Druminar, a music-based program that provides corporate training, leadership development, and team-building services. Shrock served on the boards of the Buffalo Girl Choir and the Burchfield Penney Arts Council and has also volunteered at Gerard Place.
Shrock is deeply inspired to re-engage with music and the GBYO. Her experience performing in her hometown youth orchestra in Columbus, Ohio, during high school ignited her passion for a music career. She now aspires to ignite that same sense of opportunity and inspiration in the talented young musicians of the GBYO organization.
When she’s not at work, you can find Shrock playing the harp, traveling, or attending concerts by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra to support her husband, who is the Principal Percussionist.

Jennifer Haag
Jennifer is an elementary orchestra teacher in the Hamburg Central School District. She has taught both elementary and middle school orchestra over the past 25 years. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin-Wallace University and a Masters of Music Education from SUNY Fredonia. She is an active member of the Erie County Music Educators’ Association having chaired both the Junior High South Orchestra and Elementary Orchestra in the past.
Jennifer is an alum of GBYO and the parent of two GBYO musicians. One is a current member and the other is an alum pursuing a music performance major at Baldwin-Wallace University. The GBYO organization had an incredible impact on Jennifer and her family. She wants to help ensure the future of the organization and its positive impact on students in the area.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys performing with the Orchard Park Symphony Orchestra and spending time outdoors hiking and camping with her family.

Shuyin Shi
Shuyin Shi, CPA, is an accounting manager at Sodexo with extensive experience in technical accounting and financial reporting. She earned her MBA in Professional Accounting from Canisius College and has partnered with executive teams on audit, compliance, and risk management, bringing both technical expertise and strategic insight to her work.
Originally from China, Shuyin moved to Buffalo in 1998 with her husband, who received a full scholarship to study biomedical science at the University at Buffalo. She has been an active member of the Williamsville community for over 20 years, including volunteering with the Williamsville Music Booster program. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, running, and family vacations.
As the parent of a cellist in the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra, Shuyin is honored to contribute her professional skills and personal commitment to support the orchestra and its mission of inspiring young musicians.

Nicholas Boron
Nick’s professional career includes more than 20 years of experience in banking, with roles primarily focused in project and product management. He has been a volunteer youth coach, served on multiple church committees, and enjoys giving back to the WNY community however and whenever he is able. As a board member, Nick is excited to help drive forward this organization’s mission and support opportunities to continue developing young musicians.

Laura Koepke
Laura Koepke is Professor of Bassoon at The State University of New York at Fredonia, where she began teaching in 2007. As an orchestral player, she is the principal bassoonist of the Erie Philharmonic (since 2011) and former principal bassoonist of the CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra (2011-2021), where she also performed as concerto soloist in 2014 and 2015. Other solo appearances include concerto performances with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra and the Orchard Park Symphony. Prior to Fredonia, Laura lived in New York City where she enjoyed an active performing and teaching career. Laura graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College/Conservatory of Music and received their Alumni Achievement Award in 2005. She holds a master's degree and an Artist Diploma from the Yale University School of Music.
Laura joined the GBYO Board because she understands the lasting impact of the youth orchestra experience, as a college music teacher and a former youth orchestra member herself.

Our Board of Directors is composed of parents and interested community members who volunteer their time and effort. Board Meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month from 7-9 pm.
