The Greater Buffalo Youth String Orchestra (GBYSO) is our string-only ensemble for younger developing musicians and they should prepare a NYSSMA level 3, 4, or 5 solo, grades 4-9.

There are anticipated openings for all instruments in the 2024-2025 season.

All students should be studying privately.

Each student must re-audition every year.

All auditions will be held at Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 15th (10am-6pm).

For the entrance audition, students are required to perform a solo of their choice (NYSSMA level 3,4, or 5), orchestral excerpts which are emailed three weeks prior to the scheduled audition, and sight-reading.

The application Deadline for Student Auditions is May 20, 2024.

Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons from September to May for GBYO.

Location: Christ United Methodist Church (350 Saratoga Road)

Time: 3:00-5:00 pm.

Results will be sent out via email on by June 23rd.
